You may not know that along with my project “Folk Road Show” that leaves on tour of Canada next week, I also play in an ambient electro rock group called REGAL. A couple months ago a young film maker from Victoria contacted me with interest in collaborating on a music video together. I told him that as much as I loved making music videos and art in general I just didn’t have the funding at the moment to justify investing in a music video. When I checked my emails later that day, however, I noticed that Telus Storyhive was doing a grant program that would support small town BC and Alberta projects. The young film maker, Mike Morash, was from Victoria and made us eligible to apply for the program.
Fast forward to this week and I can present to you REGAL’s first official music video for our track “Orbit”. I hope you enjoy,
For the last couple years I’ve made trips to Europe in the fall to tour with an international collective of songwriters that came together by accident in late 2014. I’m very excited to announce that we’ll releasing an album as the Folk Road Show (self titled) on Texas label Classic Waxxx on Aug 23rd of this year. To support the release we’ll be hitting the road across Canada this summer starting in Oliver on July 28th and ending in Ontario in early September.
See the full list of tour dates on our official tour poster below. Hope to see you at a show!
On the rare occasion, I lend my voice to electronic and EDM tracks via the Milk Music composer/top liner Mike James. I’m charmed that one of the songs that I sang on for him has been chosen as the Official Anthem of Summerfestival 2016 in Antwerp, Belgium.
Here’s a clip of the festival and the Alvar & Millas tune “Hello Hello”.

My song “Granville Bridge” has been featured in Quesada Burritos and Tacos “Joy of Song” project. For the next month you can get a free download of my song at any Canadian outlet of the restaurant or online at http://joyofsong.ca/
