REGAL Music Video “Orbit”

You may not know that along with my project “Folk Road Show” that leaves on tour of Canada next week, I also play in an ambient electro rock group called REGAL. A couple months ago a young film maker from Victoria contacted me with interest in collaborating on a music video together. I told him that as much as I loved making music videos and art in general I just didn’t have the funding at the moment to justify investing in a music video. When I checked my emails later that day, however, I noticed that Telus Storyhive was doing a grant program that would support small town BC and Alberta projects. The young film maker, Mike Morash, was from Victoria and made us eligible to apply for the program.

Fast forward to this week and I can present to you REGAL’s first official music video for our track “Orbit”. I hope you enjoy,

I’ll Always Be Back for You, Victoria

Had a fantastic time playing at Lucky Bar in Victoria last week with Snoqualmie and Wand. There was an astounding amount of photographers in the room and I wanted to give them a each a shout out and share some of their work.

Thanks to all of you.  For those interested in seeing some of the shots from the night, check out the links beside the names.

Victoria Music also came out and shot quite a few videos of songs from the night. You can view them all here. I’ve also included one of my favour moments from Lucky Bar, my cover of the Outfield’s “your love”. Thanks for singing so sweetly Victoria.

Lucky Bar, Victoria. Tues Jan 29th

For those of you living on Vancouver Island, I’ll be coming for one night to play a show in Victoria at Lucky Bar on Tuesday January 29th. Sharing the stage with me will be two great local acts Snoqualmie and Wand.

Advance tickets are available for $10 online at or at Ditch Records or at the door for $13.

It’s not so often that I cross the straight to come see my island friends so if you can, hope you can make it out.

JP Maurice should be famous. And if everything I hear about his band and David Foster and an evil record company is true, he nearly was. It’s a terrible story. But this is a beautiful song. Listen to it like you were never a kid.

*the video was shot by a really cool new Vancouver project called Green Gouch Sessions. Check out the collection of live videos from local talent they’ve already accrued at
